Amy Kesner, PhD, LPC, LADC

Amy Kesner, LPC, LADCDr. Amy Kesner has been serving the in the field of mental health for over 20 years.  She earned her doctorate degree in Psychology from Saybrook Graduate School and Research Center.  Dr. Kesner practices in Oklahoma as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) as well as a drug and alcohol counselor (LADC).  Her experience as a therapist expands several areas of interest including grief and loss, addiction, family issues, trauma, depression and motivation for personal change.  She has worked with children who have been abused and neglected and placed through the state in the Therapeutic Foster Care system for over 15 years.  Dr. Kesner has provided alcohol and drug counseling for over 20 years including working through a private practice, and providing services for DOC and Drug court clients.  Amy also provided individual and group services to patients at Brookhaven Psychiatric Hospital in Tulsa Oklahoma.  She has co-published one article with Steven Pritzker, Ph.D. in, ReVision: A Journal of Consciousness and Transformation titled: Therapeutic Horseback Riding with Children Placed in the Foster Care System.  Dr. Kesner started her own company, Amy Kesner Counseling Services in 2012 as she wanted to utilize her experiences to reach a broader audience as well as be more proactive in educating about the importance and relevance of mental health.  Her practice provided counseling, life skills training, group support, and training and development. She joined Recovery in Oklahoma in 2016 as Clinical Director of the Tulsa location

Dr. Kesner also supervises new therapists for becoming licensed in the state of Oklahoma as Professional counselors or Drug and Alcohol counselors. She continues to find ways to help those in need and educate on topics related to mental health and personal growth by speaking at various engagements and offering her services, professional opinion and experiences  to help the community.
