Here’s a pretty interesting video from CNN regarding synthetic drugs that are readily available in the United States. I’ve heard that use among kids is on the decline. However, I think it’s still pretty popular among those who are being regularly or randomly tested for more common substances.
We’ve also seen people become severely disoriented and exhibit signs of agitation or aggression after use. Although some of these substances are called “synthetic pot”, the effects are nothing like those of marijuana. There are some on-site drug tests available for these substances but they aren’t readily available and only detect limited varieties.
I’m still not sure this qualifies as an “epidemic” but we all need to be informed about this and other trends in substance use.
